1. 14-Day Money-Back Guarantee
Both plans can be cancelled any time in your first 14 days for a full refund.
If for any reason you are not satisfied with Layoff HQ within 14 days of your purchase, you may request a full refund. No questions asked. No fault required. No need to explain why. Your Decision Calendar PDF is yours to keep. Ongoing services (email and SMS reminders, two-pager workflows, severance review access) stop on cancellation.
The 14-day window is calculated from the date and time of your purchase, in your local time zone.
This applies to:
- 6-Month Plan ($89, one-time): full $89 refund within 14 days
- 12-Month Plan ($139, one-time): full $139 refund within 14 days
2. How to Request a Refund
To request a refund, send an email to billing@layoffhq.com with:
- The email address you used at checkout
- The date of purchase
You do not need to provide a reason. You do not need to fill out a form. A short email is enough.
We aim to process refund requests within 2 business days. The refund will be issued to your original payment method via Stripe. Depending on your bank, the refunded amount typically appears in your account within 5 to 10 business days.
3. What the Refund Covers
A full refund returns the entire purchase price you paid. We do not deduct fees or processing costs.
After your refund is issued:
- Your access to paid features ends
- Your Decision Calendar records are deleted within 30 days
- Severance documents you uploaded are deleted within 7 days
- You can still receive the free Decision Calendar preview if you wish
4. After the 14-Day Window
After 14 days from purchase, we generally do not issue refunds. However, if any of the following happens, please contact us:
- The Service fails to function as described and we cannot resolve the issue
- We make a material change to the Service that significantly reduces what you paid for
- You experienced a technical issue that prevented you from using the Service during your 14-day window
In these cases, we will work with you in good faith to resolve the situation, which may include a full or partial refund or extending your plan.
We do not issue refunds for:
- Failure to use the Service (the calendar exists whether you check it or not)
- Disagreement with calculations or recommendations after the 14-day window
- Outcomes of decisions you made (we provide information; decisions are yours)
- Job offers received during your plan window (you keep the full benefit of the Service through its expiration regardless)
5. Chargebacks
If you have a concern about a charge, please contact us first at hello@layoffhq.com. We will respond promptly and refund eligible requests.
Filing a chargeback with your card issuer without contacting us first may result in suspension of your access until the dispute is resolved. We reserve the right to provide your card issuer with documentation showing the legitimacy of the charge in response to a chargeback dispute.
6. Promotional or Discounted Purchases
Promotional or discounted purchases follow the same 14-day cancellation window. The refund amount is the actual price you paid, not the regular list price.
Hardship or sliding-scale arrangements (if offered) are also covered by the same 14-day cancellation window.
7. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Refund Policy from time to time. Changes apply to purchases made after the effective date of the new policy. The policy in effect at the time of your purchase governs your refund rights for that purchase.
